The FAX machine ruined our ability to plan.

No one seems to be able to plan anymore. Everything is a last minute rush to throw water on the hottest fire. Why? Because of the FAX machine. We became accustomed to instant gratification starting with this machine. E-mail made this worse, and then the cell phone, and now text messaging is the icing on the cake. Why plan when you can expect that someone in the bathtub will respond to your text message instantly.

Don’t mind me. Just needed to rant a bit. Contractor e-mails me this morning to tell me they won’t start until Saturday for a job that was supposed to start today. This was arranged some 5 months ago. Everything on my end is ready, now all I have to do is make one more arrangement… get staff here on New Years Day on two days notice. Yeah. Right. Thanks BCI.
