Called to Order at 1:117pm

Minutes for October meeting accepted with 1 minor spelling revision.

Announcements:

Chair: None, IT Department: Windows 10 – notices sent out to notify faculty/staff, fully deployed by next summer, multiple education sessions available

Old Business: 5 year plan:

Is not for IT Dept. functions – broader university level to address purpose and function of IT How will increased enrollment plans impact IT within university? Discussion about impact and functionality of Banner when migrated to cloud

Need a draft plan – T.B. has recruited 1 member for writing group- final makeup will be: T.B., A.K., and S.B., subcommittees send what they can to writing group, T.B. will build draft on Google Docs, goal is to have draft within 2 weeks. Some discussion of goals: increase paperless and process of forms within university, communication r/t online communication, and uncovering how decisions are made r/t IT based resources?

New Business:

J.N. from IDTRC wanted input from group about Blackboard access – open ended vs. term access. Other 3 CSUs have different approach?  Consensus was to leave open ended – request for members to ask at their departments what preference/impact there would be.

Motion for addition of IDTRC rep on this committee due to structure changes (will be ex-officio) to take effect fall 2018. Rep will be identified by IDTRC administrator. Will require bylaw change, and approval by faculty senate and will update election committee. Motion approved

Identify Finder issues on MACs – IT is aware of issues, have reached out to company, which has not been responsive. IT is exploring solutions/options with another system – Seek & Secure. Sean will f/u in future as it is resolved

Online course Student Opinions Surveys – Online Learning Committee set out process for all online courses, 2 systems are being considered. 2 faculty are piloting evaluations in Blackboard – response rates from other system pilot will be compared.
