Parker English retires and is named Emeritus Professor

t_Parker_English_136906Prof. Parker English has retired from the CCSU Philosophy Department, and has been named Emeritus Professor of Philosophy. Parker — as he is known to  faculty and students alike — came to CCSU in 1995, and served 18 years as a valued colleague. He taught courses in his area of specialization – African Philosophy–, as well as courses in Religious Studies and the Honors Program. His most recent book, What We Say, Who We Are : Leopold Senghor, Zora Neale Hurston, and the Philosophy of Language was published in 2010 by Lexington Books. Parker will continue to research the interface between African and Analytic Philosophy. He was awarded the title and status of Emeritus Professor in recognition of his major contribution to teaching, research and service at CCSU.
